Trying to decide how many versions of SSMS are needed to support SSIS on SQL 2012-2019.Wait! Before you install that next SQL Server, hold up. I tried to find such a table of info but no luck (or dont know what i am looking for). maybe SSMS 18.7 works with SSIS on SQL 2016, 2017 & 2019, but i need SSMS 17.x if i want to work with SSIS on SQL Server 20).
How far back does it's SSIS compatibility go? And when it stops, what is the previous version i need to install to pick up where 18.7 leaves off? (e.g. Or do i have to have a separate version of SSMS installed for older versions of SQL Server?

Is there a table or reference guide (or rule of thumb) when using SSMS with different versions of SSIS (running on different versions of SQL Server)? For example, is we have SSMS 18.7 installed on our clients, will we have full compatibility with SSIS on SQL Server 2019 and earlier versions? I am especially interested if SSMS is compatible with SSIS on 2017, 2016, 2014, and 2012.
